Savvy Social: How you can make social media work for your business (without it taking over your life)

Thursday, 14 November 2019, 10am – 1pm

Whether you’re a brand-new startup or an established SME, you know that having a social media presence is pretty much essential in 2019. But how are you supposed to find the time to keep up with it? And how do you make sure that your content is being seen (and acted on) by the right people?

In this workshop, you’ll discover the importance of having a social media strategy – and have a go at creating one yourself. You’ll also find out more about what makes great social media content – and how to find, curate and produce it without it becoming a full-time job.

Through a combination of presenter-led learning, group discussions and individual exercises, you’ll explore the three vital questions that every business should be asking about social media: why are you here; who are you talking to; and what are you going to say?

This workshop is led by Liz Bell, a freelance copywriter and communications consultant based in Birmingham. With a background in media and PR, Liz helps charities, social enterprises and small businesses to find, reach and inspire the people that matter.

At the end of the session there will be some free networking time and a drop-in ‘social media clinic’ – your opportunity to get one-to-one advice from Liz on any specific content or strategy issues you may be facing.
