I am creative but logical. I am deep-thinking and analytical. I do not say much, but listen all the time.

I have a BA in Transport Design but decided I did not want to do that, so I earned an MA in 3D Digital Design, a PGCE, and an MSc in Creative Technologies. Prior to taking up my current role at STEAMhouse, I worked on a similar ERDF project at Nottingham Trent University, and before that taught 3D design at Further and Higher Education institutions in the UK and Taiwan.

I am also currently working towards completion of my PhD through National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. My current areas of research include:

  • Generative design
  • Digital manufacturing (3D printing)
  • The link between the virtual and the actual in 3D design
  • Mobile devices and sensor technology in a product design context

The bulk of my day involves working with SMEs to help them to develop their creative ideas. It is this that makes my role so exciting. We get a huge variety of ideas and projects through the STEAMhouse doors, all of them challenging. I also do inductions to the digital workshop for our new members, where I introduce the equipment and how it is used.

People from different disciplines working together to come up with creative solutions to problems.

To challenge me, and enhance my knowledge.

Improving integration of public transport systems and timetables.
